DMTL Now Certified to AS9120
DMTL have successfully transitioned from ISO 9001:2015 to AS9120 RevB (EN 9120:2018) following requests from their growing Hi-Rel customer base.
As an existing IECQ-CECC and BS9000 distributor and having been an early adopter of the latest ISO9001:2015 standard, DMTL already had many of the system and process requirements in place to manage a quick and fluid transition to this internationally recognised quality management system designed for aerospace, space and defence industries.
Commenting on DMTL’s latest certification, Commercial Director, Peter Jones said “With our continued growth within aerospace, space and defence industries several important customers approached us to make the step change to become AS9120 certified. From making our internal decision to move to AS9120 in July 2018 to our successful completion of our Stage 2 audit in October 2018 took just 4 months. Securing this new certification within such a short timescale has been a great achievement and is down to the hardwork and dedication from the entire team. DMTL looks forward to a continued growth within the Hi-Rel market sector and maintaining their proactive stance in this industry."
What is AS9120?
AS9120, which DMTL has now achieved is part of the AS9100 series of standards. There are 3 main standard within AS91XX series:-
AS9100 - QMS for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation, and servicing for aerospace, space and defence
AS9110 - QMS for maintenance, repair and overhaul of aerospace, space and defence parts
AS9120 - QMS for quality assurance in stockholding and distribution of aerospace, space and defence parts
The current AS9120 revision is RevB (EN 9120:2018) – For which DMTL is certified.
