Nikkohm: RP-4x Series, 1ppm/DegC – Possible foil resistor replacement

Previously it was only foil resistors considered for precision resistor applications, but due to significant developments in Ni-Cr technology over the last few years, the gap is almost non-existent for certain applications.

With TCR’s down to 1ppm/DegC (-55 to 125DegC) and tolerances as tight as 0.01%, the Nikkohm RP-4x Series can be accurately defined as a resistor suitable for precision applications.

Available in industry accepted pitches of 2.54, 3.81, 5.08 & 7.62mm, the Nikkohm RP-4x Series can be considered for new designs, but also as a replacement item.

With the Nikkohm RP-4x Series, ANY ohmic value within range is possible, with users not constraint to preferred values and with ohmic values up to 1Mohm, the Nikkohm RP-4x Series will significantly reduce the associated costs of using multiple component count solutions.

Another key benefit of using Nikkohm RP-4x Series, is the linear TCR characteristic which operates across the complete operating temperature range, which allows users to accurately predict the resultant effect in their application.

The thin-film process has always been a volume process, so now it’s possible to pull on the advantages above and consider precision resistors with a vastly reduced cost.
